After a long career associated with many different aspects of the sea, Jeremy Walker is able to offer advice on a wide range of subjects connected with the marine world.

After spending 10 years on cargo/passenger liners trading to the Far East, Jeremy then joined Seaspeed spending the next four years flying hovercraft. He returned to sea in late 1974 as Master of two small tankers, and in March 1975 joined the Humber Pilot Service where he remained until 2002. He then worked on the Paddle Steamer “Waverley”, commanded a small ferry in the Shetland Islands, before being asked once again to work as a Pilot in Peterhead.

During his career, Jeremy has gained experience in many fields; general cargo work, flying hovercraft, ship handling, training experience and finally an intimate knowledge of small craft operations.

With his first hand knowledge of the practical aspects of piloting and the problems for port operators and pilots alike, he is in a unique position to offer impartial advice on problems related to piloting.

Whilst carrying out these activities he has been subjected to three totally different training regimes, and is able to advise on aspects of both practical and theoretical training.
